Forty years on
Broadbeach.
Rooms Australia Hospitality runs a five-star hotel and casino resort at 8 Casino Drive, a block back from the sand in Broadbeach. What began in 1985 as a 200-room motor inn is now 596 rooms, a 24-hour gaming floor, nine kitchens and the busiest rooftop on the Gold Coast.
A day on the coast,
on our doorstep.
Surf clubs open at dawn on Broadbeach. Guests walk out with a towel and an espresso; the patrol flags go up at six. Kurrawa Park hosts the weekend markets a block north.
The G:link tram stops 200 metres from the lobby, running south to Burleigh and north to Surfers Paradise and Southport. Pacific Fair's 400 stores sit one stop away.
Broadbeach's restaurant strip fills at dusk, then the crowd drifts back through our lobby for a last drink at Velvet Bar or a session on the gaming floor.
Concrete, brass
and sea light.
Architect Pia Lindqvist reworked the tower in 2019 around one idea: rooms should read the ocean before anything else. Corridors were opened to the north light, bathrooms moved to the corridor side, and every balcony rail was dropped to eye level when seated.
Materials came from within a day's drive: Brisbane limestone, local spotted gum, and hardware cast in a Nerang workshop. Nothing in the lobby is younger than the building's bones.

Some hotels sell rooms. We sell the twenty minutes before sunset on level 21.
What we answer
for.
A resort this size leaves a footprint. We publish ours annually and hold ourselves to three commitments, audited by an external firm each September.
Water in a closed loop
Laundry and irrigation run on harvested rain. Consumption is down 38% since 2019.
Zero single-use plastic
Guest amenities moved to refillable stone dispensers; kitchen waste goes to a Yatala composter.
Solar over the carpark
1.1 MW of panels cover the parking roof, supplying roughly a fifth of the resort's load.
"The rare casino hotel that gets the quiet parts right."

Questions about
the hotel itself
Rooms Australia Hospitality Pty Ltd, a private Queensland company founded by Margaret Doyle in 1985 and run today by general manager Adrian Mercer. The resort is independent and not part of an international chain.
The tower rooms and lobby were rebuilt in 2019 under architect Pia Lindqvist. The spa and rooftop pool followed in 2021, and the gaming floor salons were refreshed in early 2024.
Yes. Family rooms interconnect, the pool has a shallow ledge, and the brasserie runs a kids' menu. Only the casino floor, Velvet Bar after 20:00 and the executive lounge are adults-only.
Both, most weeks of the year. The events centre takes up to 1,000 guests for a seated dinner and the garden pavilion handles ceremonies for 180. See weddings and conference rooms for details.
Rainwater for laundry and irrigation, no single-use plastics, and a 1.1 MW solar array over the carpark. An external audit publishes the figures each September; the latest summary is on this page above.
